Land Rover LRX Concept addresses the needs of a changing world
by Auto123.com
It's a concept that's defined concept cars for ages- maintaining a given brand's style and presence in a machine that has a focus on the future. Thing is, when you've got a history like Land Rover, that's a bit more challenging. The builder of premium 4x4's will look back and celebrate their 60th anniversary this year.

Despite the a rich past, Land Rover's LRX concept is definitely looking forward. A compact three-door model boasting a light weight and sustainability-focused technologies, LRX 'clearly addresses the needs of a changing world' according to Land Rover.

Some may call the LRX a cross-coupe. It's smaller than the LR2, and intended to attract buyers in the luxury and executive marketplace looking for a capable 4x4 that has the amenities and comfort of a premium car. Though compact, LRX packs the visual presence of a larger machine.

"LRX has unmistakable Land Rover design and the breadth of capability that you'd expect from our vehicles. But it carries those essentials into a segment where the brand has never been before, and with a proposed level of efficiency that would make it one of the cleanest vehicles in its class" commented Phil Popham, senior director at Land Rover.

Further details will be presented to the public at the Detroit Auto Show.
